Ayanda Mabulu Warned Not To display His New Brand of Art

Controversial  South African artist Ayanda Mabulu was arrested on Wednesday afternoon while showing his latest artwork outside the Johannesburg Stock Exchange JSE.

His painting has been inspired by the hold white monopoly capitalism has had on South Africa namely the Steinhoff saga!

The paintings depict Steinhoff CEO Markus Jooste in a sexual act with a black woman, and the late AWB leader Eugène Terre’Blanche sitting on a toilet.

Mabulu’s spokesperson, Sipha Kema, said he was being held at the Morningside police station.

Police later confirmed that there was no arrest. Mabulu had only been removed from the JSE precinct and warned not to return with his brand of art.

The Constitution Hill refused for him to showcase his exhibition stating that his art was too controversial for the Constitution Hill, thus forced Ayanda to cancel his art exhibition.
